Cinderella's Training has begun

It has been way to long since I updated.

First Cinder is now at the kennels for Advanced Training. She went back at the end of October. She was suppose to go October 12 but she decided that she wanted to stay longer and went into heat (finally) while I was on vacation.

SSD has decided not to use her as a breeder due to some medical problems that two of her brothers are dealing with. So we heard that she might be a balance dog. So I am excited for her.

I also learned that she is having some kennel strees. This week has been perticularly bad, I hope she will get better.

Since the advanced dogs go home on weekends, I see Cinder every other weekend since we live 2 hours away. Its so nice to get her home. She is greatly missed, especially at night my feet now freeze without her warming them.

Here is a video of her life with me.

Private Pool Party

Since we live 2 hours away from SSD we could not make yesterdays swim party. We had one here today instead. Cinder loves the pool. It is only a little kiddie pool but Cinder does not care. She was diving into it, running circles in the pool, and jumping in after the ball. Here is video of her diving in for the ball:

We got Cinder back from the kennels! To me she seemed stressed, acted very much like a mommy's girl. Glad to have her home for a while longer. She had a surprise when she got home! It was a new puppy! He is SSD Graham Cracker! Yes a male and he is yellow. Now I can make a big oreo cookie with my three dogs! This is a picture of Cinder meeting him!
After only about a minute or two of saying hello, Cinder than crashed! I swear she did not move from this spot all night!
I also recieved her evaluation from the trainers. It basically said every thing I knew about her already, Such as she is high energy, very food motivated, has problems with counter surfing. The only thing I am confused on is they said she is a little bit harness sensitive! I really don't know how she is or the signs that would show this. Oh and they loved her heel! Otherwise they are looking at her for a breeder! So all in all it was a good evaluation! Unfortunatly we only have another 2 to 4 months with her.

Tomorrow Cinder goes to the kennels for her 12 month evaluation. I am kind of nervous for her. I am sure she will do fine. While Cinder is at the kennels I will be bringing home a new puppy to train for SSD. I am very excited. I do not know much about the puppy except that it most likely will be a yellow lab. Cinder will have a new play mate since my other lab is older and not it to playing.

We are very excited.

Hi everyone!! Sorry it has been almost a month but we have been very busy.

First off we went camping at the beginning of the month. Cinder was excellent. Unfortunatly I forgot my camera, so no camping pictures. We took her fishing and to the PA Grand Canyon. Cinder was not to interested in fishing but loved the Grand Canyon, what an incredible view.

Then we went to the mall on night. We do that a lot so it was nothing special.

We went to the Bark for Life relay in Bloomsburg and got to see Cinders sister Kiara. She is the only yellow lab out of the litter. She is bigger than me, see:
Princess Kiara, Prince Caspian, & Princess Cinderella

We had our Intermediate 2 Evaluation last week and did very well. We have to work on some leave its with food on the floor.

Tonight I had Cinder working on her down stays from a distance. We got up to 30 ft. She did not stay too long but it was hard because the other dog was doing it too! Not that he was suppose to be he just knew she was getting treats and was wanting them too! Here are some pictures:

Hello everyone. Sorry it has been so long. Cinder is doing really well in her training. It almost seems that the light bulb turn. She seems to walk a the leash really nicely and not very distracted by whats going on. We went to the Earth Day celebration in Jim Thorpe and it was very crowded and noisy and a lot of food. Cinder walked through all of it without any problems. We are coming up onto her next intermediate evaluation, I think it is intermediate 2. So we have been practicing up and leave it.

She was very tired after the Earth Day Celebration.

This coming weekend she is going camping. So I'll make sure there are some pictures next week.

What's New!

Well I would like to say that there is not much new, however! First we went to the vet last Friday, and yes I did have pink eye! Also I found out that I way 55 pounds and my foster brother ways 85 pounds. Since I missed my b-day party from the week before they changed it to this past Wed. It was a lot of fun. Here are some photos.

Tricky

I have posted about Cinder having a binky. Well that toy was getting very nasty looking and it smelled. So I bought one that was very similiar and thought I would try trading them. At first it seemed to work, then not, and now I believe we have had success. Cinder finally brought the new one to bed last night. She even took it under the covers, which she never did with the other one. I am so happy!

Happy Birthday to Cinderella and the Rest of the Royal Litter

Today is Cinder's 1st birthday! Unfortunately it is bitter sweet for Cinder! Last night we had a birthday party planned at puppy class for the 3 royals we have in the area and Cinder could not go because she has pink eye!! We just discovered it yesterday! So tomorrow I will be taking her to the vet and hopefully we will make next weeks training session.

Training

Last night was Cinder's training session with our trainer,Meg! First let me say that she is an excellent trainer and really takes the time to answer your questions and helps you figure out what you are doing wrong! So I have been having a problem teaching give! I figured it was me and not Cinder, well I was right. Although thats not what I wanted to tell you about today. Meg decided to have all of us work on our dogs jumping at people that approach them to be petted. Which was an excellent exercise because Cinder is just a terrible jumper. So we tethered all the dogs up in deffernet areas and we went to approach each others dogs. Now if you knew Cinder you would know that she does not appear to be a mommy's girl! Last night she did not care if any one came to see her, all she wanted was me. I mean she barked and cried and did everything she was able to do to get my attention and to see where I was! So eventually I made my way back to her and she finally calmed down. Carrying her leash in her mouth while I petted her and loved her. My husband always says he is Cinder's favorite, well after last night I think we know who is her favorite!

Cinderella's Binky!!

This orange bone was given to me before I got Cinder. I was suppose to sleep with and then put it into her crate so she did not feel alone! I never did, I was a bad mom! She never really played with the bone until a couple of months ago when she decided that it was her must have toy. At first I called it her blankey because was where she was. Now we call it her binky because she is always sucking on the ends. The other day the bone got a whole in it and I decided to fix it, partly because I did not know where to buy another one. I sat on the couch with the bone and my sewing kit and Cinder is going absolutely crazy because I would not give her the bone. She started to walk back and forth, attack my cats and the other dog. When I finally gave it back she laid down with it for at least a half hour!

This toy seems to still go anywhere in the house with her. She even takes it to bed sometimes.

Playing Outside

Since today was absolute gorgous day, I decided to take Cinder outside to play retrieve. She was having a blast running up the hill to get the ball and then chasing it back down the hill. I was enjoying watching her and the weather was great. Until she came running full blast down the hill and around the clothes line pole and snap went the collar. I quickly grabbed her and the collar and went back into the house. I then looked at the collar and she clearly snapped it in two pieces. This was a very nice pink leather collar! If only this would of happened before Pawsabilities, I could have looked for a new collar than!! So now I have to get a new collar by tomorrow nights puppy outing to the local fire department!!

Cinderella, Snow White, Winter, Caspian

Pawsablities 2009

Yesterday I took Cinder to Pawsablities! We had an excellent time. She came home with 3 ribbons! She won them at the ball lottery, dress them up relay, and the tail wagging competition!!! She did a wonderful job walking around nicely on the leash. Cinder did much better than I had expected, knowing that there was going to be a lot of dogs, I thought that there was going to be no way of actually walking around. We got to see her sister, Snow White, and her mother, Winter! Her brother Caspian came with us! All round yesterday was very good day!

Watching Cinderella

All of Cinder's training sessions have been recoreded. Today I decided to watch one of them, to help me find what we need to work on. I put the dvd in the player and sit on the couch, Cinder shortly joins me, and start watching the video. It was an old one, she was only 11 weeks old, and it was her first visit to the mall! We are walking around, and we both seemed to be doing very well. Soon we are sitting at one end of the mall doing some training. At one point on the video Cinder loses interest in what we were working on and I call her back to me in that high pitch happy voice that all puppies love, and Cinder picks her head up off my lap and is watching the tv trying to figure out who is calling her! It was so cute to see her confused on where that voice was coming from since I was sitting right next to her and not calling her name.

Cinder Today

Cinderella, aka Cinder, is now 11 months old! She just learned heel and is working on the long retrieve. Cinder is like no other dog I know. She is very smart and loving. The other day I bought a box to put all of her toys in and the very first thing she does is puts a toy in it. I had just placed the box on the floor of my kitchen so that I could finish unloading my car. She is the biggest cuddler and loves to sleep under the blanket every night. I am going to love being able to tell you all about her life, I have no kids and always am talking about my dogs!

Meeting Cinderella

May 31, 2008. I was so excited about going to get a puppy to raise for SSD. They held us in suspense on witch puppy I was going to be coming home with; was it a boy or girl, black or yellow, what was its name? I had no answers, until they brought out a little black female named Cinderella! She was so adorable! I justed wanted to get home and play with her.
